about

Hi there! I'm Gabriela, a freelance illustrator, visual artist and science educator living in Brazil. My main interest is on creating illustrations for children and teen media, including books, magazines, posters, advertising, packaging, apparel and more.In my work, I aim to create emotionally resonant visual storytelling. I'm fascinated by the use of color, texture and composition to create organic and fresh scenes that convey a variety of sensations.

I'm particularly drawn to the coziness of the tiny details that might be missed in daily life. Other themes that I'm passionate about are nature, community, diversity, social issues, simple living, alternative lifestyles and imagination, as well as exploring difficult emotions such as loss, vulnerability and uncertainity. My work is inspired by my own relationships, cultural background and childhood memories. With a background in natural sciences and education, I bring a unique perspective to my work that can help create engaging and informative visual content.I value open and honest communication in all of my collaborations.
